Guess who was excited about her first day of church...
Welcome home Elder Ricks! Glade wanted to keep Emerson a secret from his missionary brother--Carl was adequately shocked to find a new niece waiting to greet him at the airport.
Em's pretty popular with her cousins
I was lucky to have lots of help from my mom and sisters, who took turns visiting and helped me learn the motherhood ropes.

Em's first walk.
In high school I gave a foreign exchange student her first Starburst--I was pretty excited to introduce her to something so amazing. I realized I'll get to do the same thing with Emerson, and see her experience a slew of wonderful firsts.
Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks? I find myself doing just that on a very regular basis.
